We build designers who take responsibility for what they make, what they use, and who it affects.
Responsibility is part of the curriculum.
Wright House of Fashion is part of the circular economy. We take pride in educating every member of our staff and every young person who walks through our doors about our responsibility to the planet and to environmental justice.
That responsibility shows up in how we teach, what we source, and what we refuse to waste.
Our Building
From cleaning facility to creative home.
Our building spent decades as a laundromat and cleaning facility. Laundromats are hard on the land and the neighborhoods around them, and we refused to let that be the end of this building's story.
We transformed every inch of it into a habitat for diverse creatives to work, play and learn.

Our Principles
Five commitments every fellow, staff member and partner works by.
01
Circular by design
We operate inside the circular economy. Materials that come into our space stay in use, get remade, and stay out of the waste stream.
02
Make with what's here
Our fashion fellows create using only the materials already in our space, cutting down on what ends up in landfills.
03
Against petrochemicals
We stand in the fight against petrochemicals and the harm they do to our communities and our planet.
04
Healthy fashion
We promote fashion that is healthy for the people who make it and wear it, through plants and natural materials.
05
Education for the new economy
We invest in the education it takes to build a new economy of responsible designers.

Environmental justice
The thread through all of it. The communities hit hardest by waste and pollution deserve a seat at the table where fashion's future gets designed.
These are the principles we've built our revolution around.
